XDefiant, closed beta available
xDefiant, now more than announced 1 year ago, Ubisoft announces closed beta dates for a fast-paced, free-to-play arcade shooter developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and featuring factions inspired by some of Ubisoft’s popular franchises. The closed beta runs until April 23rd. Crossplay will be enabled for the closed beta, allowing players to enjoy XDefiant on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. The closed beta introduces players to the XDefiant arena, including features that will be available at launch:
- All 14 maps will be available at launch
- 4 factions inspired by Ubisoft franchises
- 24 weapons
- 44 attachments
- 5 explosive devices
Try playing as one of four factions inspired by Ubisoft franchises: The Cleaners (The Division), Libertad (Far Cry 6), Echelon (Splinter Cell) and Phantoms (Ghost Recon Phantoms). Each faction includes three characters, but only one is available immediately, the others can be unlocked through missions.
While players cannot keep their achievements at launch, they can keep up to 10 exclusive cosmetic items at launch.
XDefiant celebrated the launch of its closed beta on April 13 with a presentation on Ubisoft’s official Twitch and YouTube channels that included a game walkthrough, a seasonal roadmap, a question-and-answer session with Executive Producer Mark Rubin and featured a special ranked mode show match hosted by streamers Patrick “Aches” Price and Jonathan “Pacman” Tucker.
